About Inagua National Park

Inagua National Park was established in 1965 and covers 287 square miles of Great Inagua's wetlands, salt pans, mangroves and interior wilderness. The park protects the world's largest breeding colony of West Indian flamingos, alongside parrots, hummingbirds, herons, egrets, spoonbills, pelicans, terrapins and wild donkeys. It is a warden-managed Ramsar wetland and internationally recognized Important Bird Area with little visitor infrastructure.
