The Andros Barrier Reef extends for more than 124 miles between Andros and the deep Tongue of the Ocean. Its reef, lagoon, seagrass and patch-reef habitats support diverse marine life and make Andros a major snorkeling and diving destination. The North and South Marine Parks protect 8,500 acres of especially healthy reef and are no-take areas reached only by boat.
